Looking for resources to find career openings in the Middle East, preferably Qatar or UAE

Veteran

J.J. Stakem Falls Church, VA

I am looking for opportunities for careers in the Middle East. I will be completing a M.S. in Organizational Development and Knowledge Management in December and I would like to make a transition after that. So far I have been applying to positions for large multinational companies and trying to take advantage of alumni associations and other networks. Any other advice is appreciated.

Go to SCORE.org and become a SCORE client then under REQUEST MENTORING enter "International Trade" and along with Edward Feldman, you will find other qualified e-mail mentors with International Experience...try it.

Cliff,

Thank you for the information. I would definitely be interested in learning more about the program that is being setup in UAE. I am currently finishing a Master's in Organizational Development and Knowledge Management, and I am specifically interested in training programs. Any additional information would be appreciated.

I am also familiar with SCORE but I did not know that they had individuals with specific overseas experience.

My husband is working for Enercon in the UAE as we speak. You might look into their opportunities and see if anything they have fits with your needs. You can also send me your resume and I will forward to my husband.

Have you tried a company called Syncorp? They are in VA and post people in the Middle East.

JJ, just wanted to check and see if you have landed the opportunity you were seeking in the Middle East. I have many solid business contacts in the GCC and also looking to finish developing my workshop/seminar based on my strategic life coaching experience/studies supporting my new book release. I'm working to promote a 5 or 6 country seminar tour based on my new book. I would welcome help developing the instruction guide to compliment my book. You can preview it at this link: www.blurb.com/user/Reemz1 and just click on the book.

Thanks,

Dear J.J.
A new idea about UAE etc. Last evening I attended a Kick Off Dinner for TIE Tampa, www.tietampa.com. A 20 year old organization started in Silicon Valley by East Indians. TIE means The Indus Entrepreneur. It is now world wide and open to any interested member. Annual dues $100. They provide international mentoring, assistance, AND potential funding from the group and from International members around the world.
My friend and SCORE member Bruce Elliot is the new Executive Director of TIE Tampa.
He is working on renewing his connection with his UAE associate. We'll keep trying.
I just thought that you might find TIE an interesting possiblity.

It looks like you are getting some pretty good information here. I actually did a search out of curiosity using on various department of defense contracting websites and a lot of positions come up. You might want to also try that. As you are in VA, you can start with defense contractors in your area. A simple search on their website will provide you with information on all the positions they have available and where they are located.

Hello JJ,
I'm working on that name. My friend returned to the U.S. this week, and immediately left for a wedding in Chicago...I did ask him for that contact and he said that he would contact him and see what his current status is.
This circulated around the concept that the person from the UAE is a consultant, and has a potential contract with the government of the UAE...to help establish business opportunities for 50,000 medical technology grads who do not have any jobs in sight. TTYL

Hello JJ,
I'm a Vet and a member of SCORE (www.scorepinellas.org). I have an associate who has a friend in the UAE who is setting up a government training program for 50,000 medical graduates for which there are no jobs available.I have spoken with that man and my friend has done business with him. If you are interested in that contact just let me know. In the meantime, you should check at www.score.org, ask for a mentor on-line who is experienced in your area of inquiry...you will find that Veterans Fast Launch button as well.
Good Luck,
Regards,
Cliff Sullivan
