Financial help for veteran owned businesses?

Veteran

I have a flyboarding business (water sports) and I wanted to explore any and all options to help my business run for efficiently. I have spent a lot of money purchasing the equipment and developing a website. Are there any preferences to Veteran Small Business that I should take advantage of?

There is an organization in Chicago, Bunker Labs, that provides mentoring and capital to Marine vet-run businesses, www.bunkerlabs.org.

Good luck and thank you for your service!

You may want to check with the people at Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE) https://www.score.org ; they work with US SBA in all facets of getting a small business off the ground

Based on the nature of your business, have you considered working with a business consultant? Another great resource to consider would be better and start up for incubators such as The Bunker. I would look at engaging a nonprofit or the bunker before hiring a business consultant personally.

They can help you secure a lot of qualified information and education for little or no cost. Allowing more time and resources to spend on other aspects your business that we are arguably more important.

Do you have a contact for the Bunker or SBA in your area?

I would connect with the federal, state and any local small business associations. Often there are other grants available besides any Vet grants, also affords you insights from other sources on growing a small business. https://www.sba.gov/content/veteran-service-disabled-veteran-owned
