Hello Jimetrius,
I am currently launching a similar concept for shopping and travel. Shoot me an email and maybe we can collaborate our ideas.

Can you write code? or do you have the money to hire developers to write code?

If the answer to these is NO then you have nothing. Sorry to be harsh, but there's a million app ideas out there right now. Nobody cares about an app idea. They care about an actual working app. If you can't pay someone to write one then learn how. It's not that hard. Learning how to take an app to market first is doing it backwards. Get the app first. Then worry about marketing it.

Hey, you should consider speaking with the Small Business Association branch in Atlanta. There are millions of dollars set aside for Vets and Service Disabled Vets whom have small businesses. If you can get the federal government to provide you with a loan. They have several workshops and webinar that teaches you how to do businesses with the government and how to receive small business loans. Here is the contact information

Are you familiar with Atlanta Tech Village? Since you are in Atlanta, they could be a valuable resource. They are in Buckhead. It's a start-up incubator for tech companies/concepts.

Jimetrius,
Anne and Jeffery have provided you with excellent info!
I would add to Anne's ideas by suggesting that you think of building and funding this project the same way that people think about starting a business. If you agree, then the first step would be developing a business plan for this project. SCORE offers free business plan templates at https://www.score.org/resources/business-planning-financial-statements-template-gallery . They also offer free business advice, mentoring, and much more in most communities from successful business managers that volunteer their time and experience to help people just like you.
When I ran a Navy transition project at NAS Oceana 20 years ago, I included a section presented by the local SCORE office on Starting Your Own Business. They were an excellent resource that helped thousands in the Norfolk, VA area get their business ideas off the ground and I know SCORE can help you.
Good Luck in all that you choose to do!
Walt

Hi Jimetrius,

I'm not directly in the loop anymore with these things, but you may want to search for "Mobile App Magazines". You'll find a lot of information as well as companies that will develop apps for you. I recommend using the magazines over websites since advertising in popular magazines can give you a better impression of the quality, size and liquidity of the company.

One big issue you may run into is conveying your vision to the the developer so you may also want to look into something such as FileMaker Pro Advanced and FileMaker Go. It's a (relatively) easy way to model an app before sending it off for development.

Good luck!
