I decided to hire a Product Management company, to patent and licensing my product. My question is: What should I focus on while my team create my vision? How should I hold them accountable?

I'm a 37 y/o Navy Veteran who has served my country proudly. I've also managed to receive my high school Diploma and Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification. My life after military service has been a roller coaster, but yet I've accomplished my targeted goals rather quickly. Since I was 8 y/o my passion has been entrepreneurship. My most memorable accomplishment was starting a small general contracting business in Iraq for 4 years. Of course, good things doesn't last forever, so I decided to create my own product that people need. The light switch clicked on and behold On The Geaux Wet Towels was born in 2013. Currently, I've managed to get my product in 100+ plus stores (pharmacies, hardware, cross fitness, Texas Health and Human Services, Texas Wildlife & Fishing Department and more). My product is being considered by a few Fortune 500 Companies for licensing.

Malik,
Congrats on getting your product into stores. A few questions or comments to clarify...

- Do you have a website? I couldn't find one.
- How do you differentiate your product some other similar products?
- As far as "your team creating your vision" are you still hands on with it? Are you driving the vision or is someone else? I am guessing that no one has the passion that you do. Be sure to be the driving force behind your vision.
-As Cheryl said, set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound) or even smartER goals by adding Exciting and Relevant to the mix.

If I can be of help, feel free to reach out thru the link below. Good Luck.

Hi Malik,

Thank you very much for your service! Also, congratulations on your success with your product.

To provide some context for my response, currently I am a sales executive with an highly entrepreneurial spirit. It seems that your product name and category may lend itself to an expanded line of products. It may serve you to continue to be a visionary and uncover other products that can leverage the very catchy company name. You are already having success with launching. It would be great to leverage your position with other viable items. You might study other companies/products that were developed to fill a need. Under Armour's story comes to mind!
It seems that your great experience with project management will support your objective of holding your team accountable. Use SMART goal setting to support your efforts. Based on your success getting the product to market, have faith that you are doing a lot right.
All the best to you! ~ Cheryl
