About Deborah
I am an Employment Specialist for or the Veteran's Administration in NYC, and a Veteran myself. I am also a former Computer Science and Culinary Arts Instructor. I have a long background in Hospitality, Information Technology, Job Placement, and Leadership. I am currently the leading placement specialist for HVSEP which works primarily with homeless or at-risk Veterans. I have been in leadership for over 30 years, teaching for 8 years, and Hospitality for over 25 years. I am dedicated to helping Vets in any way possible.
I have recently developed and run a Veterans Computer Literacy Program (VCLP), which I also teach. I am counseling, coaching, and teaching Computer Literacy. I am also working with VA employees for USA Jobs/Resume Writing, and career counseling. This program began as a VA Leadership Project in January 2013,but, because of its success, I have been asked to continue the classes, and am expanding the program. I hope to see this become a staple in the VA system. Many Vets have been served through this effort.
Beginning my Coaching and Mentoring at the VA. I will be working with Vets and VA employees needing career and interpersonal development. (August 2013)
