I joined the navy on delayed entry program in 1982. Only spent 4 years active and 2 inactive. I was a PR3 at my discharge. Got out because my rate was closed and was no room for advancement. Being a parachute rigger gave me the ability to step into the interior design field. I worked and learned upholstery for 3 years. I then started my own upholstery shop. I worked at it for 3 years when I took another job doing interior window treatments. I kept the upholstery shop open doing side jobs after work. After 2 1/2 years or so I went back to my upholstery shop and was able to offer window treatments as well. Worked the shop for 3-4 years when an interior design firm offered me a job to run their workroom. I worked that job for 4 years. I then went back to my own shop. I did exclusive upholstery work for an antique dealer along with building window treatments for different interior designers. I was then approached by another design firm to run their workroom. I worked closely with numerous designers. After 4 years I went back to my own business till 2001 when I moved home to help out with my parents due to age and illness. I started another upholstery shop and this is where I am to this time.
