About Rafael
I joined the US NAVY May 10, 2001 when I was 18 years old. I graduated from my Aviation Machinist Mate (AD) A-school, Sept 11, 2001. Watched the towers fall on tv right after I was handed my certificate. I checked into an F-14D Tomcat squadron, VF-2 "the Bounty Hunters" stationed in NAS Oceana. We deployed on CV-64 the Constellation, for her final tour around the world in November 2002. President Bush started the war on Iraq and a world cruise. turned into a combat deployment and we were extended to an 8 month tour. Returning in June 2003. Our beloved Tomcats were retired & we were sent to NAS Lemoore to accept our new F/A-18F Super Hornets.
