About Elizabeth
I am an Army Brat. My dad served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. I came from a middle class background where art wasn't important nor was much known about it. Unfortunately for me my parents died young in their 50's so I started learning about the world at an early age. After college and then graduate school in fine art I spent 10 years as a college professor in various schools. I got married at 36 but kept teaching and making art when possible. After two wonderful boys, one is becoming a Marine, were launched in school I went back to teaching. I love teaching and talking about art. SOme may think this isn't a "practical" career path and they would be right. But sometimes it is essential to ones life to be able to express oneself. I'm very good at working with all students helping them figure out how they can shape their desires to fit the possibilities in the so-called real world. I'm a great example of someone who started out without a clue about art, wound up teaching and making art, going to great schools, and continuing in my 60's to teach and make art. It's not important that my subject is art. It's about learning how to un-clog your mind and figure out what are then next best steps to take regardless of your subject matter.
