About Lawrence
I have been working as a Patent Attorney since 1992. I was a United States Patent Examiner from 1987-1992, and while working in that position I attended law school during the evenings at George Washington University. My undergraduate degree is in Mechanical Engineering (B.S., 1987, Southern Illinois University). In my current job I am the Chief Patent Counsel for a multi-billion, privately-owned, global consumer products company. In the past I worked at two large, publicly-traded companies in businesses dealing with medical products and petroleum equipment. I also worked a few years in private practice firms in patent litigation. I have been a lifelong athlete-- running, strength training, karate (40+ years), and amateur boxing. I like to volunteer a lot and have mentored/coached athletes and young people in sports, career, and daily life issues.
