About Carl

I began my work life as a welder and steel fabricator after graduating high-school/vocational school. When I was 21 years of age I owned and was principle management of 2 companies, an excavation and a paving company, employing a total of 15 people. After selling those, I turned to my lifelong passion of automobile and heavy truck repair, where I was employed for approximately 5 years. During that time I began my college education, taking classes at night and raising my two daughters. After achieving about 1/3 of the credits I needed, I went to college full time and graduated after completing 91 remaining credits in 2 calendar years. From there I went into a doctoral program where I received my Ph.D. in Social Psychology. I taught college and was director of Industrial/Organizational Psychology for 7 years, after which I went to the applied side and now work as an I/O Psychologist, consulting to management in companies ranging from Fortune 500 to small non-profits. I still proudly maintain my master ASE technician certifications in automobile and heavy-truck, and my commercial driver's license. My daughter serves in the Army National Guard. I am passionate about advising managers on leadership and talent management, and want to help our service members to find careers that they will personally fit with and thrive in--it's not a simple thing to do.
