I was an employment counselor with the State of Florida, Employment Service, in Milton and Pensacola, for twenty- eight years. I have an M.S. in counseling. Counseled job seekers individually and in groups on job choice, change, or adjustment. Administered interest and aptitude tests and interpreted same. Advised the professional job placement group. Did job development with employers and any other tasks related to job search, resources, interviewing, and job retention. Emphasis was on a self-directed job search for the applicant to thoroughly contact any prospective employer and to sell a job interview as the essential first step in getting hired.
