Any advice about the Logistics/Supply/Transportation Industry?

Veteran

Jim Malonzo Jacksonville, FL

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree major in Transportation and Logistics, minor in Entrepreneurship.
I would like to know how to get internship here in Jacksonville, FL. I would like to have my own business with this industry.
Thank you,

Jim M

Hello, I have a client who is very well versed in this field. He currently teaches a class at the University of North Florida. Let me know if you would like more info on him.

Good luck!

Hello Jim,

Seeing your request prompted this thought. Did you know that FEDEX contracts with PRIVATE enterprise to move its packages? FEDEX is always looking for independent contractors. Take a look at this site: http://www.fedex.com/us/indp/independentcontractors.html. As you'll note, there are several different ways to have your own business and be part of this growing firm.
Example: Seven years ago my previous neighbor began with two tractor-trailers. Today he has seven and is semi-retired, building the business even more.

Best regards,

Harry

Hi Jim,
The Logistics and Transportation industry is a very broad field. What type of business would like like to open? Are you looking to be a freight forwarder? I would suggest, if you are able instead of looking to simply intern, find a company in our area that you can actually work for. Preferably a smaller organization because you tend to get a better view of the entire organization.

Hi Jim,
First I would like to say thank you for your service. Could you elaborate more on your wanting to own your own business?
Thank you
Heidi
