Hi James, thanks for your many years of service. I have been in HR for 20+ years. You have rec'd good suggestions above from the other advisors. I would add, beyond the mentorship you are looking for, start immediately and stay "current" on HR issues/labor laws facing the nation and the particular state you plan to work in. You may want to join SHRM ( I think they have special rates for veterans) and/or your local chapter, and they may have mentorship resources on their website. You and/or your mentor may want you to look at obtaining your PHR, SPHR, and/or GPHR certification from HRCI. This may help get your foot into the door for an interview and eventual job (and hone your current HR skills and knowledge). LinkedIn is another good source that you may want to try and do some different searchs on HR and mentors.

Good luck...

Hi James
I would like to talk with you about the project I am working on. I am a few weeks away from receiving the construction funding to build a school and will be hiring about 6,000 people in Belize and another 1,000 in the US to focus on fund raising and events.
Besides that, I taught entrepreneur skills and mentored many managers and management consultants over a 20 year period. Also, I live just south of Alameda and could meet with you to talk about what your options are.

You should register your request with ACP. They will find you a Mentor.
