I have a great invention idea who can help me..??

Adrian Orellana Lakewood, CA

Would like to get pointed out in the right direction to make my invention real and available to the public. I know it’d be a great hit. Just don’t want to get scammed and somebody else getting my idea and making it his/hers. Any advice in how to do this would be deeply appreciated.

Hello Adrian. Yes working with a patent attorney is the safest route to go. Be sure to find one that has experience, and likely a degree, in the field of your invention. That is, if you have a chemical invention, you would want a lawyer with experience in chemical patents. Be sure to ask what his degrees are in. For our example, it would be best if he had some chemical degree or experience.

Be sure to document all of your work to date. Keep a log book. Date each entry. Be very careful about any information you give out.

Best of luck and thanks for your service Adrian.

You probably want to write up your design and file a patent application and do a patent search using a patent attorney before disclosing your invention to others:

I've added links to information and videos under these sections of my EE webpage that might be useful:
