Looking for Maximum Networking Opportunities

Veteran

Gary Jones Falls Church, VA

As a security operations executive I have been actively searching for a new position for the last 15 months resulting in only two interviews. I re have had my resume re written for free and at cost, I have been networking through alumni associations, LinkedIn and personal contacts, I have sought positions of interest, tailored my resumes and submitted more than 200 applications during the aforementioned time frame.

I no longer want to sit behind a computer and seek assistance in greatly expanding my network to meet/talk to people in the Corporate and Event Security industries. I am asking for any guidance or help this network forum may have to offer.

Your LinkedIn profile maybe over qualifying you. You may wish to tone down the education, one Master's instead of two and evaluate your previous positions. Even if you are tailoring your resumes, they see multiple degrees, attending Harvard may present a big dollar candidate. From your description of corporate or corporate events security in the question and your profile do not match.
Your profile gives the impression you are looking for a c-suite entry, but that maybe more difficult to find without a good head hunter. If you have a salary range under the c-suite, tailor your resumes and profile down, so recruiters are not scared off. I also found the salary setting on Indeed does a pretty good job of only giving you positions near or below the salary you are searching. Thanks for you service and God Bless.
