I spent six years in the Air Force as an intelligence analyst and separated as a Staff Sergeant; I hold a bachelor's degree in business, and am currently working on a master's in accountancy. Am I qualified to interview with Deloitte, and if so what is the best way to approach doing so?
edit: I'm interested in either tax or advisory services

Hi Austen, thank you for your service. I think you are perfectly fine for the two areas you’ve mentioned. As a recent hire to the firm, and being relatively young to my peers on ACP, I think I am qualified to say that Deloitte looks for a variety of backgrounds and there is no specific “type”. You are already taking the right approach by being proactive and asking questions regarding Deloitte’s recruiting process, as well as determining areas you are interested in. I would suggest drilling down further and identifying specific job posts you are interested in (I believe one of my colleagues referred you to the “Jobs” section on ACP which is a great place to start). From there I would suggest searching for Deloitte professionals with relevant job tittles through LinkedIn; alumni from your master’s in accountancy are good connections to target. Finding “sponsors” to back up your case when you apply will make a substantive difference. I wish you the best of luck; please do not hesitate to follow up with questions.
Austen,
Thanks for your service and the quick answer is yes, you are qualified to interview for Deloitte opportunities. Please review the Deloitte jobs posted on ACP this morning and let me know if you are interested in any on them or have any questions, message me directly.
