Thank you all for your help and taking the time to answer my questions. I just landed a job with AGC Automotive in KY. They hired me as an IT intern.

Hi Deepak,
I am happy to help. Are you looking for work only near where you live now or are you willing to relocate?
Regards,
Ned

There are many groups and affiliations you could attend/join that could help: vendor sessions/events, regional/national user group meetings which are usually vendor/platform related, and professional organizations like ACM, IEEE, LOPSA, etc. In the computer world, more and more are informal meet-ups: http://www.meetup.com/topics/computer-networking/ can help you find one in your area/domain.

Hope that helps.

The good thing about network admin is that many large companies have in house admins, so there are often many openings available. In my field, financial services, most of the large companies have need for network admins and often have programs for vets. I believe Fidelity investments has a large network operation in/near covington, KY, perhaps that is near you.

Otherwise, I suggest re-posting on this web site the areas of the country you would be willing to move to, and I would think many would be able to get you in touch with companies who may have positions open in that area.

As for advice, feel free to ask more specific questions, and many on the web site will help.
