Hi Jamell-

I looked at your current LinkedIn page and thought it was very good. The only suggestion I would make would be to reduce the number of capabilities to 3. Hiring managers don't believe that anyone is an expert in more than 3 areas. Good luc k!!

1. Be sure to take advantage of the Profile Tab listing honors, organizations, volunteer experience, certifications, etc. Recruiters look at this and search for things they are looking for this way.
2. Spend the money on a professional picture in business attire. Look straight into the camera and have them do a close frame to your face.
3. Be sure to add to your network using Alumni...people you know.... etc.
4. Join interest groups that will help you with your occupation of choice......this will help expand your network.
5. In this world of hacking be sure to manage your privacy settings.
6. In your description use verbs.....fewer nouns......action bites.
Hope this helps! Thanks so much for your service.

Start with the veteran's group on LinkedIn: https://veterans.linkedin.com/

Then there are numerous articles to point you in the direction of improving your profile. This is a group that can help: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/How-Veterans-Can-Optimize-Their-4836441.S.5812565214058524676

Finally, find some veteran's profiles and use the best from them. Feel free to view mine at www.linkedin.com/in/philhicks1/

Send me a connection request and we can connect as well!!

Start with your strengths, i.e. what are the top 3 unique competencies that the hiring manager must know about you? Then emphasize those competencies in your LinkedIn profile. It would help if you attach recommendations, certificates etc that emphasize those competencies. Do consider publishing brief articles that demonstrate your thought leadership on those competencies. Best wishes!

Jamell, feel free to join the LinkedIn Group "Military-Civilian Career Coaching Connection (MC4)" . I guarantee if you join the group and create a post asking for assistance, it will come.
