Any mentor from the Finance Industry, preferably from Manhattan, New York, or Seoul, South Korea?

Veteran

I have served in the U.S. Army for 8 years (including 2 tours in Iraq and 1 tour in Afghanistan). I will graduate from NYU with major in Economics and minor in Mathematics and Philosophy. Beginning this year, I have initiated working as an individual investor through Ameritrade, primary because I wanted to apply my knowledge gained through the economics and mathematics courses I have taken at NYU. I have extremely enjoyed the financial investment and research works, and thus hope to work for either a commercial or an investment bank as a financial analyst.

Hello Tom

I just began to utilize those resources as I have always expected myself to enter the Phd program in Finance or Economics. Thank you!

Hello Mr. Alexander

I have always been considering the PhD program in Finance or Economics, so I did not utilize the OCR until this point. I realized that though I have an excellent GPA and meet other qualifications to be in one of the good PhD program, I began to realize whether the PhD is what I would wish to pursue. If I can get a Financial Analyst position immediately after I graduate from NYU, then I will definitely pursue that career since I have so much love for Finance. I just began to utilitze this networking system, hoping to be linked up with other Vets on the Wall Street Groups. Mr. Alaxander, I would love to meet up with tyou one day. I am a full time student/a part time worker AND have a wife and two children to take care of, so it won't be that easy to make time, but please let me know if can ever come by the downtown area near Washington Square Park, where the NYU's main campus is located (near the Stern buildings).

How are you utilizing your college's resources (career center, professors, staff, alumni network, local alumni clubs, etc.)?

Sam,

What was the OCR like at NYU? Has your networking opportunities been positive? Have you linked up with any of the Vets on Wall St groups? I hope they have at least set you up on the right track. I am in the city on a short term trading desk. Drop me a line if you want to met up some time.
