The Market Manager is a seasonal part-time position from March through November at an average of 25 hours per week. The Manager is responsible for completing administrative tasks during the week, coordinating partners and managing operations on site at the market every Monday.The Y: We’re for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Coordinate roles and responsibilities with vendors, health services, DJs, partners involved with Fests, and volunteers
Hire, train and manage staff and volunteers
Attend community events to help promote the market
Plan Fests including activity ideas; Connect with partners; Order giveaways
Schedule DJs, Vendors, Health Services, and Volunteers
Respond to all emails and phone calls inquiring about the market
Attend planning and funder required meetings
Develop a concise marketing plan
Follow accounting procedures
Online data input, and surveys input

Supervision
The Market Manager will oversee apprentices and volunteers in coordination with the Project Director. The Market Manager also supervises all activities on site at the market and is expected to attend every market (Mondays) June through October.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum HS Diploma; college degree preferred
Knowledge of data collection and analysis
Ability to problem solve
Excels in customer service and communication
Organized and attentive to detail

Preferred Skills
Ability to assess what needs to be done in situations independently
Office experience, including social media and blogging
Self-motivated and enthusiastic
Competent in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of agriculture and urban environments preferred
Passionate about nutrition, wellness, and food access
Interest in engaging with community
Bi-lingual Spanish/English

Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry between 20 and 50 pounds of weight
Ability to work outdoors in hot temperatures and rain
