Data Network Analyst

This position will be responsible for planning, implementing, maintenance, and support for all aspects of the Peoples Natural Gas Data Network.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.Analyze, design, test, and evaluate network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet, intranet, and other data communications systems.
2.Perform networking modeling, analysis, and planning.
3.Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
4.Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
5.Create and update detailed installation and support documentation.
6.Determine appropriate technology used to meet business requirements.
7.Experience with the following Cisco technologies: Nexus 7k/5k switches, ISE, Sourcefire, Wireless Controllers.
8.Experience with WebSense web security appliance.
9.Experience with F5 load balancers.

Successful candidates will possess the following knowledge and skills:

Intermediate level of technical proficiency in enterprise data networks.

Experience in enterprise data networks.

Data network troubleshooting and incident resolution experience.

Ability to provide supporting documentation for network change controls. Test plan, implementation plan, verification plan, and back out plan.

Layer 2 switching design and troubleshooting experience.

Layer 3 routing design and troubleshooting experience.

Cisco PIX/ASA firewall, VPN, …etc.

Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills of moderate difficulty.

Strong communication skills (verbal and listening).

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Ability to work independently and on multiple tasks.

Minimum qualifications:

Extensive experience with Cisco enterprise class switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers and related network monitoring tools.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 10 years of experience working in a data network environment.

CCNA, or CCNP certification strongly preferred.

Valid driver’s license. Position will require frequent travel to work sites of PNG(and travel beyond Pittsburgh representing PNG).

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
