General Summary:

Participates in design, implementation, and deployment of custom cloud-native applications in AWS cloud. Assists with all phases of the software development process. Participates in design decisions related to cloud services, including research and prototyping. Builds and maintains deployment automation and system configuration needed in Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous deployment of successfully built and tested applications to AWS.

Responsibilities

Work effectively as a Cloud Engineer within cross-functional, agile teams.
Define and document application architecture in the cloud as well as the corresponding network architecture and deployment architecture
Configure cloud systems for high availability and scalability
Assist with the deployment of database, search engines and software changes
Administer Linux and Windows servers and Docker containers
Diagnose/debug faults in complex services or distributed systems.
Perform work under continuous deadline pressure.
Identify and script automatable problems, test and perform work with efficiency in mind.
Equipment Operated: Computer hardware and software as well as standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Work performed in an office or call center environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and customers.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, bending to handle equipment and supplies, mobility to complete site visits or deliveries. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Stress can be triggered by multiple demands and deadlines.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

· BS in Computer Science or closely related field.
· 5 years of AWS experience
· Hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)
· Scripting and automation experience in an enterprise scale environment
· Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with customers and multi-cultural teams.
· Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in English, in a clear, concise manner.
Desired Qualifications:

AWS certification
· Experience with Terraform and/or other similar IoC tool
Experience with Puppet and/or similar Configuration Management tool
Experience with Bitbucket and/or similar Source Code Repository
Advanced experience in troubleshooting techniques
Knowledge of security and performance best practices for cloud architectures
Strong background in Linux Administration, preferably RHEL
Proficiency working with Microsoft Windows environments
Proficient knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python)
Familiarity with Agile methodology
