Wyman-Gordon: Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all of the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed-die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land-based gas turbines. Wyman-Gordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe, nuclear, petrochemical, power generation, and space applications.

Located in Paramount, California, Press Forge is a premium supplier of forging services and products to commercial and military aerospace, nuclear, oil and gas exploration, and industrial markets. Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of our operational processes and outputs. The Quality Engineer's responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions. This position is a key liaison with internal staff, suppliers, and customers on Quality related matters. A successful Quality Engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Comply and enforce Cardinal Rules of Quality
For all RFQs (request for quotes) and sales orders, review customer documentation and ensure manufacturing, technical and quality requirements are met and documented. Preemptively identify and communicate issues that can be resolved early, thus avoiding costly Inspection or Manufacturing options that delay processes.
Interpret customer requirements that may have hidden costs. (i.e., inspection, fixturing, tooling, special processing, etc)
Review or create order specific Inspection & Control Plans and other Quality documentation.
Address quality inquiries and concerns from our customer and their representatives
Provide quality customer interface to assure requirements are understood and satisfied. Host and participate with customer audits, work collaboratively with customers to identify quality gaps, assure corrective action resolution, and oversee continual improvement activities to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Perform and lead internal audit activity to identify process enhancements and ensure compliance with QMS.
Responsible for ensuring RCAs are implemented for CARs and NCRs
Participate on all 6s Programs
Obtain AS13100 Supplier Self Released Certification
Monitor quality control activities and processes at suppliers. Review and analyze corrective action and non-conformance data to eliminate non-conformances.
Recommend new techniques and processes to improve the flow of data and documentation
Assist with training production staff in the implementation of QMS and inspection procedures.
Developing and implementing quality standards.
Developing and implementing quality control systems.
Monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
Reviewing codes, specifications, and processes.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge of forging, machining, special processes, and applicable specifications
AS13100, 8D Problem Solving Requirements training or experience
Lean manufacturing basics
Trouble shooting skills with focus on process improvement
Knowledge/ experience with Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Spirits AeroSystems Quality management system and specifications.
PFMEA, APQP, SPC and 8D Problem Solving experience/training.
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, to convey ideas and processes
Ability to complete work assignments accurately and quickly, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal
Self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision
Strong organization and planning skills
Team Oriented
Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Oracle experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent project management skills.
Experience & Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in quality or engineering is required.
3+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment; forging (Open /Close die) highly preferred.
Knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems; aerospace preferred
ASQ certification preferred.
Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing basics
AM2750 / AS9100 auditor Rev D preferred
