Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design and selection of satellite electrical subsystems by defining requirements, developing the architecture, implementing the design, and verifying the subsystems once built. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a subject matter expert in space power generation, space power storage, and space power management and distribution.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Review and manage subsystem architecture and interfaces for the development of a new satellite bus system.
Review requirements, specifications, ICDs, analyses, and test plans.
Document design, analysis, and test results in technical reports and presentations.
Contribute to specific mission, ground, or space vehicle systems engineering activities.
Support integration, testing, and operational readiness of spacecraft and payloads.
Develop and maintain system power budget.
Develop electrical system validation and verification plan
Prepare and give presentations to peers, management, and customers.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Ten (10) years related experience including direct experience in satellite, spacecraft, aircraft or weapon system electrical power system (EPS) design and proficient w/AutoCAD Electrical (or equivalent) experience with schematic and layout design.
Experience with integration and placement of common spacecraft subsystems: power systems (Solar Arrays, Batteries), avionics assemblies, harnessing, ADCS elements, and electro-mechanical subsystems.,
Knowledge of satellite/spacecraft system reliability, contamination control, EMI, space environments (radiation, surface charging, corrosion, etc.), and human factors is also desired.
Experience developing system and subsystem level acceptance and qualification testing of space flight hardware.
Familiar with LEO space environments and mitigations.
Extensive experience with defining, developing and delivering space qualified hardware.
A solid understanding of all aspects of requirements definition, decomposition, and flow-down, architectural trade studies, architectural and interface definition, hardware specifications, interface control, analyses, and verification.

To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
