Position overview

Oversee airfield ramp operations in support of the Transportation Department while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and company policies.

The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for training and development of Customer Service Representatives/ drivers, monitoring adherence to standards, managing people and performance on the airfield (airport operations area ‘AOA’).

Working cohesively with the Dispatcher, Safety Advocate, Transport Training, and Concourse Coordinators

Reports to: Transportation Manager
Position Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Hours/ Salary Range: Flexible, 24/7 environment
Salary range: $23 plus/DOE
Work Condition: Warehouse/Airfield

Functions and Responsibilities

Ensure safe, on-time, and accurate catering of all flights.
Monitor and ensure compliance with HACCP and ramp safety SOP.

Foster employee participation in improving work processes via proactive communications and employee engagement

Assist in planning, forecasting, and coordinating services between the kitchen and drivers.
Ensure that all employees are in compliance with safety procedures.

Assist teams with late flights and equipment changes
Maintains radio contact with the superintendent, meal planner, and leads during operation

Conduct ramp safety observations, employee reviews, and development
Ensure consistent and proper usage of in-house service/ dispatching software and devices

Customer-facing interactions to ensure delivery of high-quality service and efficient conflict management
Provide coaching & mentoring feedback on proper operational procedures to all staff, identifying refresher training needed for staff & conduct performance evaluations

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent required, College degree preferred
Must have 2-5 years of supervisory/management experience

In-flight catering experience is highly desired. Alternatively, experience in a high-volume transportation/ foodservice industry
Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and successfully supervise a staff of 100+

The candidate should be comfortable with all levels of employees, maintaining a cohesive workgroup, driving a positive work environment.

Detail-oriented, able to prioritize tasks well. Ability to work, and thrive in a diverse busy setting

Energetic, self-motivated, customer service focused.
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass TSA & FBI background screening

Intermediate computer skills; working knowledge of outlook, word, excel, data entry

Preferred Skills

Must be innovative in making changes to the operation as needed, contributing to further improve the work environment and unit performance

Familiarity meeting performance goals, and a strong ability to meet time deadlines

Current or previous labor relations experience is a plus, but not required

Outgoing thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys managing a group of employees that are focused on delivering a quality product to our customers.
