Overview:
The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Vice President and Chief of Analytics within DataGen, a HANYS Solutions company (HSI). DataGen offers a variety of health care data analytics, software solutions, and support to state hospital and health care associations, and multi-state health care systems. Reporting to the President, DataGen, this full-time position will have P&L responsibility for DataGen’s Analytics and KeySTATS business lines.

Key Responsibilities:
• Participates in client planning, analysis, and presentations in support of the sales cycle. Accompanies staff on customer meetings, participating and following-up in the sales cycle as needed to secure optimal sales outcome as required.
• Oversees Data Gen’s Analytic and KeySTATS business lines day-to-day operations including staff management and development, budget, policies, and procedures. Determines staff resources required to maximize company data assets and grow revenues & margins.
• Responsible for key account management and business development activities including coordinating marketing initiatives, demos and other communications with clients and prospects including proposal and contract development.
• Participates in the formulation of organization wide healthcare data strategy, data governance policies, and development, of corporate data/analytic initiatives. Tracks industry trends and practices to stay on the forefront of the informatics field and is a thought leader responsible for developing and adopting leading evidence-based practices. Develops plans for upgrading DataGen’s portfolio of data, analytic infrastructure and decision support tools.
• Integrates technical knowledge and understanding of healthcare payment policies, data and cutting edge analytic techniques in developing an informatics roadmap. Works in conjunction with IT and others as required, directing project analyses, expanding analytic product platforms and services, and research and development studies.
• Oversee and analyze essential research about markets, customer groups, and competitive intelligence.
• Identifies and directs the research and analysis of emerging issues of importance related to healthcare payment policy including alternative payment and other payment reform models.
• Works with legal team, corporate compliance, IS department and others to ensure adequacy of technology infrastructure, platforms, data governance, security and compliance.
• Serve as a strategic partner and liaison between Leaders, IT, Operations, Marketing and Finance to reduce silos and provide a holistic strategy.
• Demonstrates industry thought leadership by engaging in external speaking opportunities, attending conferences, publishing articles and developing white papers.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 -10 years progressive informatics leadership experience with a proven track record of accomplishments in a large, complex multi-entity organization is required.
• Experience with advanced analytic modeling and use of business intelligence applications related to healthcare payment policy. Subject matter expertise working in the value based/alternative payment model arena including ACO’s and bundled payments strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in informatics, mathematics, engineering, quantitative analysis or related field required, Master’s degree in these areas expected.
• Experience engaging executives and other stakeholders to support business decisions as well as prior experience in the management of analytic staff and resources expected.
• Ability to multi-task and manage complex issues with executive stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
• Innovative thinker who understands the practical application of technology and is able to plan for systems and processes today that will carry the organization into the future.
