Summary of Position

Plans, coordinates, and installs software applications and hardware peripherals on Windows, Apple, Unix, and Linux platforms. Provides system administration and configuration of standard Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and specialized mission applications and software.

Required Skills

Candidates must be able to provide Help Desk support and technical assistance to include:

Optimizes the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems.

Ensures availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers, workstations, and data storage systems.

Implements and maintains backup and disaster recovery plans and capabilities for all critical mission systems.

Develops and maintains system administration standard operating procedures, technical guides, and instructions.

Install, support, and maintain server operating systems and software Plan for authorized service interruptions and outages.

Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages.

Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning.

Monitor and enhance system performance.

Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery capabilities for all identified critical mission systems.

Test operating system and software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes before they are applied to the operational systems.

Create and test backups of data, provide data cleansing services, verify data integrity, implement access controls. Assist developers of data exposure services with engagement of the database.

Equipment Used

The contractor will provide operational support services including, but not limited to, systems and network administration, support of both legacy and new applications and systems in accordance with AFI 17-100 Air Force Information Technology (IT) Service Management and DoD 8570.01M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program and the Services
