• Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 5 years' of professional level experience or equivalent training and experience.
• Degree in education, training, instructional design, or adult education preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of and experience in the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) or similar methodology.
• Experience developing DOE/NNSA nuclear qualification and certification programs.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and facilitation methods.
• Demonstrated effective oral, analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to deal with a diversity of demands.
• Ability to manage a variety of job specific projects, while maintaining appropriate levels of service in existing programs and meet the demands of a constantly changing environment.
• Knowledge and skill working with database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs.
• Knowledge of appropriate safety and health standards and procedures; and experience identifying reporting, and/or correcting hazards.
• Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level) and Human Reliability Program (reference 10 CFR Part 712, “Human Reliability Program”) certification. Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, and subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, will be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.” Eligibility Requirements – To obtain a clearance, an individual must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security.”
• Nuclear Facility Worker Category – 09 Instructional Analyst/Developer (text below appears automatically when 09 is selected)
• Per DOE O 426.2, this is the individual primarily involved in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of training for job positions/activities in nuclear facilities.
• Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
