This position is part of the IT Service Management team and plays a key role in overseeing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), a vital foundational component of the IT Service Management practice at Bristol-Myers Squibb.  The CMDB supports core service management processes – Incident, Problem, Change & Release, Service Request, Application Portfolio Management and others such as IT Financial Management. The person in this role will have responsibility for ensuring its accuracy, completeness and evolution. The Configuration Manager position is suited for someone with a passion for data integrity.  This position involves the following responsibilities.

Expectations of the role include the following:
Take a lead role in analyzing the CMDB data to highlight anomalies and errors and to identify opportunities
Apply skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and established policies and procedures to perform trend analysis and guide SACM strategy. 
Lead CMDB data governance board meetings with Domain Owners to review status reports, highlight issues, monitor data quality progress, and provide guidance
Provide consulting services within the team and to other BMS departments in recommending corrective and preventive actions
Define CMDB data quality reports to ensure accurate and up to date information
Work with CI type owners to define and implement remediation plans
Maintain CMDB Data Model
Curate SACM articles in the knowledge management repository
Lead process interactions between SACM and other processes
Support SACM Process Owner as needed; proactively identify process improvements
Provide input into Service Management Office, present findings and make recommendations as needed

Position Requirements :
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to form strong relationships within a matrix organization.
Good understanding of service management principles including management of configuration items (CIs), thinking in a service context, and defining outcomes-based delivery.
Must be detail oriented, analytical, and demonstrate ability to work in ambiguous environment. Must be self-directed with proven ability to make mature decisions supported by thorough data analysis.
Project management skills a plus
BA/BS degree in Computer Science preferred
5-6 years’ experience in IT operations
ITIL v3 Foundation certification required; Service Transition Capability certification preferred
Experience with the ServiceNow platform preferred
