Cosmo International is an established and growing manufacturer of fragrances and exporter of cosmetics/jewelry raw materials and components with international operations in Europe and Latin America. We are seeking an Innovation Color Chemist to join our team.

Summary: Develops innovative formulations or concepts for new make-up products. Runs research of new ingredients or technologies. Constantly bring breakthrough formulations and/or creative technical concepts that might be applicable for new make-up product development.

• Develops innovative formulas according to an experimental plan proposed by
• manager.
• Reproduces prototypes from suppliers.
• Reverse – formulation of benchmarks.
• Proposes new ideas of formulations to prepare innovation meetings.
• Improves existing formulas by bringing innovation.
• Evaluates and validate raw material substitution in existing formulas.
• Be up to date with new launches of raw materials and new products in the cosmetic industry.
• Be current with the latest technologies used in the cosmetic products but also be
• aware of any other technologies that might be transferred into the cosmetic industry
• Transfers formulas and processes from innovation to development.
• Evaluates formulas; interprets results and communicates discrepancies directly to facilitate
corrections.
• Complete projects according to timetable by following the regulations (EU, USA,
LATAN) during development.
• Analyzes the technical information regarding the formula and raw materials.
• Ability to demonstrate the proficiency in the use of the Research & Development
software by creating, validating or changing information.
• Meets with suppliers of raw materials or packaging.
• Attends meetings and seminars as requested.
• Maintains the organization of the laboratory.
• Follows company’s practices and regulations.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or an equivalent degree
• Four-year degree required in cosmetic chemistry or similar plus at least one (1) year
experience in the make-up formulation
• Good communication (written/oral), and organizational skills required
• Fluent in English—Spanish
• Basic computer skills
