MTA Metro-North Railroad has the following employment opportunities:

• Senior Construction Engineer - To coordinate, manage and inspect the planning, design and construction phase of construction work on Railroad property performed as part of the Capital Program, protecting the Company’s interests and ensuring safety in all aspects thereof. Coordinate the coverage of such work by several staff members including Construction Engineers, Construction Representatives and Agreement Railroad Inspectors.
• Assistant Deputy Director Structural Design - Coordinate and manage the maintenance and capital programs for undergrad and overhead bridges for the New York portion of Metro-North Railroad territory. Design repairs for Stations and Facilities in accordance with NYS Building Code. The position will design bridge standards and repairs according to industry guidelines and regulations for the safe and reliable operation of the railroad.
• Category Acquisition Manager Design Build & Innovative Project Delivery – Technology - To assist the Assistant Deputy Director-Design Build & Innovative Project Delivery-Structures/Technology in the efficient administration of the design build project delivery method for all technology type contracts. The Category Acquisition Manager, consistent with FTA and All-Agency Procurement Guidelines, will be responsible for soliciting, selecting, negotiating, awarding, and the administration of technology contracts using the design build procurement methodology and/or other innovative procurement methodologies.
• Compliance Officer (Multiple Openings) - Implement federally mandated Conductor Certification and Licensing program to ensure Metro-North Conductors are compliant with regulation, perform to established level of proficiency and are tested (written/performance) regularly to validate understanding of safety critical roles. Monitor and record conductor performance through on site observation, make recommendations and implement changes to ensure proficiency in training, monitoring new employees.
• Director Design/Build & Innovative Project Delivery Procurement - To assist the Sr. Director P&MM in the efficient administration of the design build and or other innovative project delivery method for acquisitions by providing complete and continuous oversight and support of all aspects of design build projects including, new rolling stock, station and facilities and customer based technology projects. In addition, provide forward thinking and innovative procurement strategies that coincide with state and national industry leaders.
• Engineer Retaining Walls - This position will assist the Sr. Engineer Structures in creation and maintenance of a retaining wall inventory database with priority repairs to establish maintenance and Capital Programs. The position will perform condition inspection on the retaining walls. The position will create designs and oversee consultant designs and construction of repairs of retaining walls.
• Equipment Engineer - Provide various engineering services to support the safe and reliable operation of the Metro-North Railroad rolling stock fleet. Engineering services include: Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, and Materials Engineering, advanced analytic services for Reliability Centered Maintenance, Reliability Availability and Maintainability, and Enterprise Asset Management, Quality functions, Technical Support, and Maintenance Planning.
• Equipment Engineer - Electrical Engineering -Engineering and design oversight of new rolling stock equipment procurement and overhaul programs.
• Inspection Assistant Manager - This position will assist in performing routine and emergency field inspections on Metro-North’s territories. Position will also assist with the responsibility for the proper documentation of the inspection results, per FRA mandates, New York State bridge inspection requirements and laws. Assure that Metro-North’s bridges and tunnels are safe for the daily passage of trains and the general public.
• Inspection Manager - This position is responsible for performing routine and emergency field inspections on Metro-North’s territories. Position is also responsible for the proper documentation of the inspection results, per FRA mandates, New York State bridge inspection requirements and laws. Assure that Metro-North’s bridges and tunnels are safe for the daily passage of trains and the general public.
• Manager - Environmental Compliance - The Manager of Environmental Compliance is responsible for assisting with assessment and oversight of Metro-North’s operations, facilities and capital projects to ensure compliance with Federal and State environmental regulations. This position requires knowledge of railroad operations as well as environmental laws and regulations. This position will monitor existing environmental programs as well as energy usage, and identify and implement additional energy efficiency and environmental protection initiatives. It will also be responsible for the management of regulated wastes, including waste classification, pick-up, and database modernization. In addition, this position is responsible for updating, scheduling and overseeing annual Resource Conservation and Recovery Act training for approximately 1,000 employees and Capital Department Environmental Awareness Training for approximately 100 employees.
