About Martin
I am English by birth and have lived In the US since 1991. I followed a UK Marine Engineering Officer Cadet scheme and graduated with BS In Marine Engineering in 1983. I also hold a UK Chief Engineers combined Steam and Motor Certificate of Competency.
I spent 15 years sailing deep sea as a Marine Engineer Officer on various types of vessel but mainly refrigerated cargo ships and cruise passenger vessels. In 1991 I came to the US and took up a position with Carnival Cruise lines as a Technical manager looking after the company's ships maintenance and drydocking aspects.
In 1996 I joined the American Bureau of Shipping as a Marine Surveyor and now am the Senior Surveyor In charge of ship and Drilling Rig Inspections In the US Gulf of Mexico area.
