As a preface to my Bio below, I want you to know how appreciative I am of your service...and feel I owe you something back for what you've done for me.
John currently is the President of Leadership Portfolios, a consulting firm working exclusively with senior-level executives to develop their personal marketing documents and provide strategic guidance for pursuing a career transition.
Prior to his current position he was Vice President at Straube Associates, a retained executive search firm working with companies to source their top executive talent. At Straube Associates, John evaluated hundreds of candidates for key management positions and saw first hand the strengths and weaknesses that each candidate presented.
Before getting into the executive search business, he had a career in executive coaching, where he was the Managing Consultant at Drake Beam Morin (one of the world's largest career management firms). In this position he ran their senior practice in the Boston market and had the opportunity to work with hundreds of high performing executives in the job search process. He continues to this day actively coaching and preparing Résumés, Bios and Board profiles for clients in the senior-level practice area of this firm (now owned by Lee Hecht Harrison).
Before joining DBM, John had a 20-year career in both consumer and B2B marketing, which included work in advertising, promotion, and brand management. He served as Vice President of Marketing for the $1.5 Billion Northeast Division of Dean Foods, where he oversaw all consumer and trade marketing activities. Prior to that, he was in Business Operations at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. where he ran a $100 Million+ P&L and developed several new product lines. He started his career in the advertising agency business in New York City where he handled account management assignments for five major national consumer brands.
John earned his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University and his MBA from Babson College
