About james
Career: During the economic of 2001, there were very few jobs available so I got a job as a carpenter and developed a passion for both wood-working and making musical instruments. That interest grew into wanting to build apartment communities. I went back to school to study construction and business. Shortly thereafter, I started working for a development company.
In development we buy land, seek approvals, design, hire general contractors, and construct multi-family rental projects. In the process, I work with appraisers, brokers, lenders, contractors, architects, engineers, lawyers, planners and local politicians so am familiar with all of these professions. We also acquire and renovate existing apartments. Real estate is an exciting profession, no two days are the same.
Personal: My family lives in Utah. We also spend a lot of time in Utah, mountain biking, skiing, fly fishing and enjoying the mountains.
As for the ACP mentoring program, I am thrilled to participate to help veterans share my passion for the real estate industry. Currently, I volunteer for the Patriot Guard Riders, an organization which provides support to troops coming home from war to their families or to their final resting place, and whose members are primary motorcycle riders and vets themselves.
