About Michael

Hello, ACP AdvisorNet Community!

My name is Michael Mallard; I’m excited to be a part of our community and thank everyone for their time and participation. I am planning to transition to the private sector in June 2021, after I conclude my current one-year assignment as Army Attaché, U.S. Embassy Rome. I’d like to apply my international experience and intelligence background to contribute to a company’s global intelligence, risk, or corporate security team, and to protect its employees, resources, and brand reputation.

I was born and raised in Nassau County, New York and began my professional career as a credit risk analyst in the financial services industry. I volunteered for active duty from 2004-2006 and deployed to Iraq and the Horn of Africa. Since 2006, I have excelled in volatile, unstable, complex, and ambiguous environments, as both an active duty Army Officer and a Department of Defense civilian intelligence professional. I’m an avid sports fan; New York teams, but I also have some random favorites. I am a Spanish speaker and also have some Italian language skills. My wife Cora and I are passionate about travel: I’ve traveled in 61 countries; lived in Djibouti, Mexico, Germany, and Italy; and spent significant time in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Iraq, Latvia, Portugal, Spain, and Turkmenistan.

I’d be delighted to help anyone an interest in pursuing a Federal career; and look forward to meeting you all!
