About Amy

I've worked for General Motors my entire professional career of 27 years, starting as a college co-op when I was 19. I've done Noise and Vibration work for 24 of those 27 years in various roles. I'm currently a global technical expert in a specific area called Actuated Sounds (components that the occupant actuates (like seat motors, power windows, doors, etc) or that the vehicle actuates as needed (like HVAC modules, AC compressors, steering, brakes, etc)). I have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University (1994) and a masters in Engineering from Purdue University (1998) that I achieved through GM's Technical Education program (online/distance learning). I have a husband who works for Ford in their Interiors area and two boys, aged 11 and 13. My kids are the joy of my life. We have two high-maintenance greyhound dogs, two crazy cats, and one fish. Outside work, I like to read, volunteer at school events, and stay relatively in shape (running, yoga, Pilates, etc). I also sing lead and play a little keyboard in a band with some co-workers.
