About Fatima
I serve as Senior Counsel with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in Southfield, Michigan, where I practice complex commercial litigation. I represent a wide range of business clientele, with a focus on small businesses and family-owned companies. As part of my practice, I regularly handle shareholder, member, and partnership suits, employment and contract disputes, and business divorces and dissolution.
I am the immediate past chair of the State Bar of Michigan's Litigation Section (where I still serve on the Legislative Committee) and currently serve on the Michigan State Bar's Representative Assembly (the governing body for the State Bar of Michigan). I also serve as Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Litigation Section's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Subcommittee of the Commercial and Business Law Committee. I also volunteer for Michigan's Institute for Continuing Legal Education, including on its Litigation Advisory Board and New Lawyers Advisory Board.
I have been recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as an Up and Coming Lawyer in 2017 and by Michigan Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Business Litigation from 2018-2023. In 2022, I was named an Influential Woman of the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
I enjoy staying involved with my community, and in particular, the Michigan Center for Civic Education, for which I am part of the Programming Committee. I also serve on both the Board of Directors and Small Business Development Committee of the Arab American Women's Business Council.
When I am not working or volunteering, I enjoy spending time with my nieces, canyoneering, kayaking, off-roading, traveling, and watching Formula 1 and the Great British Bake Off.
