About Sophia
Hi there! I am Sophia, USAF Veteran. I worked on the weapons systems on the A-10 & the F-16 for about 7 years as Active Duty then in the Reserves. I deployed to Afghanistan twice during, "Operation Enduring Freedom." I am proud to have served and I understand some of the experiences and sacrifices that we give and take being overseas. I recently graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a BS in Aeronautics, minors in Air Traffic Control, Meteorology, Aviation Safety, and I have my private pilot's license with a multi-engine add on. I received those all using the good ol' Post 911 GI Bill! My advice is to everyone is to definitely reap the benefits of your well deserved GI Bill if it is available to you! I now work for UPS as a District Safety Supervisor. I travel around my Division and audit package centers for regulatory compliance and basically make sure the drivers and everyone else are safe. It's a great job and I am fortunate for finding this job during my transition from military to civilian life. I hope that I can help other Veterans find their path during their transition, because I know that I definitely did not find my path on my own. I always had someone somewhere that gave me new information/ideas/guidance that helped me get where I am today.
