About Matthew

Hello, my name is Matthew. I am a submariner and currently I serve in the United States Navy as a Fire Control Technician 1st Class, operating and maintaining advanced weapon control systems.
Prior to my naval enlistment I worked in the field of direct sales for two years during which time I gained a valuable introduction to many basic transactional sales concepts including the necessity of possessing strong product knowledge, building rapport, listening to the customer, always asking closing questions, and projecting enthusiasm.
While in the military, I have had the fortunate opportunity to serve for three very enriching years as a Navy Recruiter. Throughout that process I was taught Professional Selling Skills (originally developed by Xerox, currently offered by Achieve Global) and introduced to the very important sales concept of needs satisfaction selling. I believe whole heartedly in selling with integrity to ensure that all parties involved benefit from the service rendered.
I have made it my habit to read books and listen to audio daily by such authors as Frank Bettger, Brian Tracy, Napolean Hill, W. Clement Stone, Earl Nightingale, Tom Hopkins, and Zig Ziglar. I strive to recognize the principles at play in the achievements of those who meet with success, and to assimilate these principles as my own.
I have very recently embarked on a journey of study by which I am now becoming aware of the new sales model by which the professional salesman must now understand certain aspects of the customers business better than they do and teach them new revelatory insights, as opposed to the older model by which the salesman confirmed the existence of a need behind the need which the customer already knew existed.
Upon the conclusion of my naval career (approximately 2020), it is my desire to provide the very best service in the field of sales and to deliver to my customer(s) the very best product(s) available. Between now and then, I have the utmost interest in creating a network and developing contacts to whom may prove beneficial toward this pursuit.
