About Gianna
Hi! I'm a medical writer for a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, where I've worked for the last 10+ years and focus primarily on drafting and developing manuscripts to be submitted to medical journals. I have experience in several therapeutic areas of immunology (dermatology, rheumatology, and gastroenterology) but currently focus on oncology (primarily hematologic malignancies, sarcomas, and prostate cancer). I also have experience in the development and submission of abstracts to be presented at major medical conferences. I have a Bachelor's in English with a minor in Biology and individual courses in public health/ health sciences as well as a Master's in Biomedical Writing; I am also expecting to complete a Master's in Public Health in Spring 2018. My daily work involves plenty of writing, editing, interacting with academic and clinical experts, and understanding the complexities involved in submitting to journals. I enjoy reading others' work (my friends and family often have me review their school assignments or other writing material, which is usually an interesting change from health-related subjects!) as well as hearing about academic and professional aspirations! On my free time, I enjoy working out, reading in the sun (with plenty of sunscreen, of course!) , and spending time with my friends and family.
