About Jon

I retired from the US Army in 1994 after 20+ years. I served in combat arms related MOS's throughout my military career. After retirement, I went to work for the US Postal Service and found that it was NOT my "dream job". I decided that I didn't want to spend my life "hating the thought of going to work", so I went to school for Heavy Equipment and Commercial Truck Driving. I found my "dream job" when I got hired as a Commercial Truck Driver in Alaska. After a number of years, I decided to follow my passion which is to teach. Northern Industrial training, LLC was looking for a Commercial Driving Instructor back in 2007, and I was fortunate enough to get the job. Alaska has the highest per capita of veterans anywhere in the US. Many of our employees and students are veterans. We get questions every day from veterans ranging from employment opportunities in the work force to questions about how to dress for an interview.
