Served for ten years enlisted as a Hospital Corpsman and subsequently was awarded a commission as a Navy Nurse Corps Officer. Retiring in September 2015 with 20 total years of service in a variety of duty stations to include Japan, Europe, California, SouthEast Asian deployment, Texas, and Washington DC in positions of increasing authority and responsibility. Current areas of expertise lay in Emergency Department management, nursing leadership, nursing education, and process improvement
