About Micheal

Hello. My name is Micheal Robinson and it is a great pleasure to join you all here. I'll take the opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I dropped out of college and joined the Navy in November of 2001 after the attacks that occurred on 9/11. I went on to serve eight years on active duty as a Navy Corpsmen before leaving the armed forces.

My first four years on active duty were spent serving as a line company Corpsman with 1st Battalion 2nd Marines where I completed two tours to combat, the first in 2003 and the second in 2004. In 2005 I was selected to serve at 2nd Marine Division Headquarters as a Combat Life Saver instructor and later an Special Operations Training Group Instructor. It was during the first four years of service that I was meritoriously promoted to Petty Officer Third Class.

In the winter of 2005 I was transferred to Virginia where I learned after checking in that I'd been promoted to Petty Officer 2nd Class. With this promotion I became the Leading Petty Officer of the Assault Craft Unit 4 medical clinic. In 2007 I was named Junior Sailor of the quarter and would go on to earn Junior Sailor of the Year honors that same year. In 2009 I was promoted to Petty Officer First Class and with a heavy heart decided to leave the service in the winter of that year.

I'd been aiming for a commission in the Medical Service Corps after earning a bachelors in Business Administration in 2008, but had not succeeded. After separating I went on to earn an MBA centered in Management and am now in the dissertation phase of Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. Ironically, I've been offered a commission upon completion of my degree however, I do not believe it is the best decision for my family at this time. I didn't like serving in the navy, I LOVED IT. My time in is a highlight in my life and at age 35 I can only imagine where I'd be without having served in the U.S. Navy.

Well, that's me in a nutshell. I look forward to connecting.
