About Nick

I focus on tax and estate planning strategies, concentrated stock positions, the sale of privately held businesses, and philanthropic services.

With more than 20 years of financial planning experience, I believe in investing with intelligence. To better serve my clients, I earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the College for Financial Planning. The CFP® certification carries with it an ethical duty to look after his clients’ investments, which he extends to every aspect of his profession. I was named to Morgan Stanley’s prestigious President’s Club – an elite group composed of the firm's top Financial Advisors – from 2015 - 2020. I was also named to the Financial Times list of Top 400 Advisors in 2015 and 2016. Additionally, in 2018 and 2019, Forbes magazine named me one of the top financial advisors in Maryland.

I graduated with honors from Harvard University in 1991. Before joining Morgan Stanley in 1995, I was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer with the United States Navy and spent four years on the USS John Young. After 20 years of service as an active reservist while also working in the financial industry, I retired from the Navy, having earned the rank of commander. In my free time, I am very active in his community. I am a Trustee of Asbury Communities, Inc., a member of the investment committee at the Holton Arms School, and serves on the finance council of Our Lady of the Visitation Parish. I also interview prospective students for the Harvard University Schools Committee. An avid marathon runner, I am also an active member of the Montgomery County Road Runners Club.
