About Mardon

My dad was in the Navy for more than 20 years. As a Talent Catalyst Specialist for the last 10 years, I connect leaders to small business ownership opportunities through a leadership development program with Farmers Insurance. The past year's success is the product of a talented, smart, hard-working group, and I take great pride in being a part of this team. Setting the bar high in our approach to bringing new agents has been, and will continue be, the single most important element of Farmers Insurance's success. We are incredibly fortunate to have this group of dedicated small business owners whose sacrifices and passion build Farmers Insurance Group. The University of Farmers was recognized as the Best Training Center in America. Prior to my current position I was Vice President for Bank of America, and Vice President for Renaissance Capital.

PURPOSE: Changing people's lives for the betterment of society

MISSION: To develop (Inspire, Empower, Accelerate and Transform) people to be relationship-driven entrepreneurial leaders

VISION: People having a fulfilled and meaningful career

Six business lessons I learned as a mentor

One of my proverbial life-changing events didn't come from my jobs as a stock analyst, stockbroker, corporate financier, investment banker or recruiter. A few years ago I wanted to engage in a cause greater than myself: Mentor future leaders to take complete responsibility of doing the right thing. What I learned from volunteering as an executive mentor at University of North Texas - Professional Leadership Program was life-changing.

1. Companies that practice Servant Leadership create tremendous and long lasting value for all of its stakeholders
2. Net-weaving produces better relationships than networking
3. Shared-Values Businesses significantly out-perform their competitors
4. A Business can be a force-of-good. Making money and making the world a better place are not mutually exclusive; they go together like nuts & bolts and macaroni & cheese.
5. A great place to work is the employer of choice for the best and brightest talents.
6. Mentors empower the next generational leaders to create meaningful, life-long values for people. We guide them to the resources, opportunities and encourage them to grow and have them pay it forward.
