About David
I am Senior program editor at the National Geographic Channel. I am responsible for editing content for shows that air on the Channel, online, VOD, sales, digital media and in house communications. I started 30 years ago at the CBS affiliate (WCAU) in Philadelphia as a sports producer for 7 years. My main focus was producing highlight packages and feature stories for the news broadcasts. It was a tremendous opportunity to meet and interview people I had only watched on tv and the tight deadlines made me realize how to focus and budget time wisely. I moved to Washington DC and freelanced for a few years and then worked for 7 years at the ABC affiliate(WJLA) this time editing sports. I was fortunate to win 2 Emmys for my work there. The people in the sports department there were the best to collaborate with because they knew my producing background and knowledge of sports. In 2000, I landed at the National Geographic Channel and have been proud to say I helped launch the Channel. There are only 5 original employees left and I very honored to be one of them. The progression of the Channel has been enormous. The technology, our audience and our visibility have all risen in the last 15 years. I am a graduate of Penn State University. My wife teaches and is a grad of Boston College and our daughter is in high school. I have been a member of the White House News Photographers Association and have won awards for my editing on the Channel. I would love to give guidance and advice to our veterans and look forward to that honor.
Cheers.
