About Carl

Carl is Vice President of Global Materials, Enterprise Supply Management. In this role, Carl is responsible for leading the strategic direction for Medtronic’s $5B Direct Materials and Contract Manufacturing spend and Suppliers, institutionalizing Sourcing Excellence strategies and processes, and deploying enterprise-wide metrics and tools in alignment with Corporate, Operating Units and Operation Networks objectives. He is also a member of the Supply Management Leadership Team for Medtronic.

Carl has over 28 years of Operations and Supply Management experience having held positions of increasing responsibilities in Engineering, Program Management, Operations and Supply Management. Most recently, Carl was Vice President, Supply Management, Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) at Medtronic. In that role, he was responsible for developing and executing global supply management strategies that deliver on quality, service, cost and innovation for MITG’s $1.5B Direct Materials and Contract Manufacturing spend supporting $2.5B cost of production operation for 28 manufacturing sites and 10 R&D Technology Centers.

In addition, Carl has served as the interim Vice President of Operations for the RGI business and the Surgical Innovations business, during leadership transitions within MITG Operations.

Carl also serves as an active member of the Medtronic Hispanic Latino Network and is an employee sponsor for the HLN LIFT and ADN sponsor programs.

Carl holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and is a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
