I missed going in under the old GI Bill. Canceled VEAP while I was Active Duty.

Brian hit giant chunk of them. Here's a couple more.

Resource:

1. Financial Aid Office at any level of Higher Learning - Their job is to drop barriers so you go to their school regardless of who pays the bill. They have knowledge of Federal, State, and Local scholarship and financial aid programs. First stop is website, then make an appointment to see a counselor.

2. Next Local VA and/or Vet Centers for financial Aid from State and Federal VA organizations.

3. You know what career to pursue! Search the web for scholarship and aid for specific careers or fields. Search the web for nursing scholarships or financial aid, you will be amazed at the specific nursing or healthcare financial aid.

4. Same for Branch of Service and MOS you proudly served. There are all types and amounts for USMC vets, specific conflicts, units, or MOS regardless if you are a Marine or Army.

5. Last, look at Federal Work Programs that will pay for a critical or needed skill or degree. You might have to work it off when you get out, but some are a year or two of payback while they pay for four years.

Good Luck!

Brian,

You may be eligible for programs through the VA, perhaps even vocational rehabilitation (VR&E). The best bet is to look up your State Veterans Service Officers (VSO) and contact them. Try the link below:

There may be grants and tuition assistance that the individual school may provide or steer you towards as well. If you qualify for them take advantage of whatever you can and always ask for the Veterans Rep; they may be able to assist by guiding you more liberal schools that allow for life credits & accept your Corporals, Sergeants, and Staff resident schools for credit.

For schools and MCI's that translate try the ACE guide (links below) and look them all up by using the Search Course" and Search Occupation" buttons. These may also assist you with listing of responsibilities per MOS & Billet for a resume if you would like.

Hope this helps. If there is any other assistance I can provide look me up on LinkedIn.
