One thing that is important is to have a good understanding of how Power BI fits into the larger ecosystem of the Power Platform. Doing good PBI work will require you to know some Power Automate, Dataverse, and even Power Apps (since these can all be used within PBI). I would recommend first pursuing the Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals certification (AZ-900). Concurrent with that, join Microsoft's monthly Power Platform Community meetings. Lots of resources through that community! YouTube has some great free starter videos, as well as help on how to overcome specific problems within PBI and the rest of the platform.
