Higher education is very selective. Educational pedigree and publications are important in the selection process.
I suggest you google several universities and community colleges to study the biographies and credentials of their executives and faculty.
Do you have similar credentials and experience?
Also review their job listings for possibilities.

Log onto the ACP webpage,
click on the ACP Advisornet tab, & select the "Community" icon.
Under the "Advisors" tab, select "Education" from the "Refine by" pull down box.
(Other selections include: Management, Project Management ... ),
Look for the "Show More" box at the bottom of the page.
Examine the advisor profiles, & use the ACP message feature for advice.

Enrique
I have found the higher educational field to be very tight on letting folks in, from outside the industry. I would look at job postings to find out what the requirements are for positions that you are seeking. Further reach out requesting information for Informational Interviews, seeking input into this new career field for you. Thanks for your service and God Bless.
